Bridgestone has announced that they’ll be sponsoring the
Super Bowl halftime show for the next 2 years. Becoming the “official tire” of
the NFL, this partnership provides Bridgestone with a diverse array of promotions.
This includes everything from ads on Fox television, radio and web properties –
to on-field signage and arena seat cushions – to branding at the NFL Experience
theme park during game week. Bridgestone brand will be associated with every
aspect of the game.
In the press release, Bridgestone’s President of Consumer Tire
Replacement Sales, John Gamauf said “There is no bigger, bolder way for us to position the
Bridgestone brand as the clear leader in the tire business than to partner with
the NFL for the Super Bowl halftime show. The Super Bowl transcends sports and
is one of the largest single-day entertainment events in the world. It is the
one sporting event that millions of fans watch not just for the action on the
field but to see the commercials, entertainment and excitement surrounding the
game. We are very excited to have the Bridgestone brand at the forefront of
such a wildly popular event.”
Word is Ryan Seacrest will host a halftime show featuring a Bon
Jovi performance.
