USA Today reports that Pepsi's Gatorade brand is in for one spot in the 2008 Super Bowl. According to the article, Gatorade is beginning an aggressive marketing campaign to support two new products.
G2 is a lighter version aimed at the yoga crowd.
Gatorade Tiger is a new product line developed for golfer Tiger Woods. The new line of Tiger flavors will be launched in March 2008.
Gatorade's president President Todd Magazine said "Today, athletes drink Gatorade on the field, and (off it), they're drinking
bottled water. Any time someone is hot and sweaty, it is share
of throat we go after, and the No. 1 competition is water. We're going after
athletes but on a different occasion."
This will be Gatorade's first Super Bowl spot since 2003.
